I will visit you and your new baby in your home during the first 6 weeks, as many times as required to set you up for your ongoing journey into motherhood. All visits are Bulk-Billed for Medicare holders, or $90 without a Medicare card.  

What should I expect? 

A full postnatal check-up for yourself to assess physical and mental wellbeing, as well as support and encouragement to get you off to the best start with a new baby. For baby you can expect a top-to-toe check of their wellbeing, including weight.  I can also provide support with any Breastfeeding and Bottle feeding difficulties.  I can also give prescriptions and referrals to specialists as required.  

How many visits should you have? 

This is entirely up to you and your needs. I would recommend a visit in the first few days once you get home, and then weekly visits. However some families may prefer more or less frequent visits.  I am able to provide care up to 6 weeks and 6 days, so if you haven't seen me in the early days I'm happy to provide a one-off visit to discuss any concerns or offer reassurance within this time period.
