There is no denying that becoming a new mum for the first or subsequent time can bring new challenges. Babies don’t read the textbooks, you can’t reason with them, and they depend on you for everything. Even when its not your first baby, you may wish you had done things differently or simply want the Midwife service to come to you, so you don’t have to worry about being somewhere on time.
It can be a lonely journey at times, one with many questions and a journey where everyone (including the old lady in the supermarket) has 'advice'. Getting the correct support and having someone qualified to answer your questions and concerns, and guide you in the first six weeks; can help you form your own style. Even those surrounded by friends and families just need to know they are doing a great job.
The Kind Midwife aims to provide an individual service, tailored to your needs, delivered in a non-judgmental, kind and supportive care. Everyone should have access to one-to-one care, regardless of financial background, which is why the home visits provided are bulk-billed to all new mums with Medicare.
